Hand-Painted Shirt Era: Studio Notes

What’s up Poetry Team!

I spent some time in the studio this week hand-painting some of our recent pieces, turning them into fully unique #1/1 edition artist proof garments. 

Adding the handmade details of paint and fabric distressing really turns the shirts even further into wearable art, which is really how we view these reborn shirts.

Each one is entirely hand detailed and distressed to add character and uniqueness to the garments, I definitely channeled some of my favorite vintage tees I’ve seen and a very punk rock DIY energy into this project.

There’s a really interesting texture between Poetry designs and super destroyed garments that we wanted to lean into with these shirts, the idea of Poetry against the harshness of the design of the garments.
