The Superstar Tee - Studio Notes
The story behind The Superstar Tee has layers of deep cut personal references and inspirations. First, the design is inspired by classic 90’s vintage rock shirts, with its high contrast colors and bold star graphic.
At the second level, a deeper reference is to our namesake city, Chagrin Falls, with “C.F.P.S.” meaning Chagrin Falls Poetry Society. This is one of our first pieces where we use the full name and not just the shorter acronym. We think of it as a reintroduction.
The third reference, the star graphic, represents the physical stars that line Hollywood Boulevard, one of the most iconic emblems of Los Angeles. The star graphic also represents the larger concept of Stardom and Superstardom itself.
The Superstar Tee is more than a tee, it’s the meeting point of pop culture iconography, 90’s rock graphics, hometown nostalgia, and of course, Poetry.
